Mapua Easter Fair 2020 update
It seems much longer than 3 months ago that we had to cancel the Easter Fair this year as NZ went into lockdown.
While we haven’t been able to raise our normal level of funds due to the cancellation we would like to acknowledge the generosity of NBS (one of our sponsors) who have kindly given us their regular financial contribution. Additionally many of our stall holders generously donated part/all of their site fees to us. This, along with some plans for our silent auction mean we will soon be able to distribute some money to both the school and playcentre.
Silent auction – keep an eye out for communications about this. We will be holding a very simple online silent auction for those items still available for purchase. More information out shortly on this.
White elephant goods – thanks to all those that donated items this year. They are currently stored safely at school and our friends in the FOMS team (Friends of Mapua School) are looking to sell these at an event later this year with all proceeds going to the school. If this doesn’t eventuate, we will add them to next year’s goods at the Easter Fair
After four years of co-ordinating the fair, I will be stepping down from the role. It’s been fun but it’s time to allow others to take up the reins. If this is something you would be interested in doing it’s a great opportunity and there is a great team of people that muck in each year to help make it a great event. If you’d like to hear more about it – please don’t hesitate to touch base with Neil in the first instance.
Thanks
Liz
