Mānuka Class Agamographs

What is Agamograph art? Mānuka class found out the answer to this question and created their own Agamographs this term.

What is Agamograph art?  Agamograph is an art form that uses optical illusion to create changes when you look at it from different angles. Our class found that we could create Agamographs by using folded pictures to reveal different images when viewed from different angles.  The students started by sketching two A3-sized pictures and outlining them with vivid marker pens.  They painted one artwork with warm colours and the other with cool colours for contrast.  The artworks were chopped into strips with scissors and laid out and pasted alternatively on black paper.  The black paper was then folded.  Mānuka students worked over several days to complete their art and were proud to show them in assembly!
