If you have walked past Harakeke recently you would have been forgiven for thinking the children had turned into robots!

We had a whole box of 'treasure' and some wood that we set about turning into a robot.  We were inspired by a book called Franky in which a boy builds his own robot.  We used all sorts of bits and bobs out of the treasure to create our plan which was photographed so we could remember what we were planning on making.  We then used our plan to help us write a robot biography (with some help from the amazing Maire tamariki).  Some of our wood was quite rough so we sanded the edges smooth, spray painted our wood and now we are just waiting for our tuakana to come back tomorrow to help us assemble our creations.

Woohoo.  We love creating and we love working with big buddies.
