Working bee at Aranui Park this Monday

Amber Beech —

One year on from planting our pā harakeke flax bushes over at Aranui Park and progress is slow but steady. If you're interested in weaving and are free on Monday 26 October (Labour Day) from 9:00 AM, why not come and join Heidi and Amber?

Some of the bushes the Tāne's Ark crew planted last year are doing well, and some don't seem to have grown at all. They all need a good weed and mulch and a bit of TLC. There are also some well established bushes that need cutting back and tidying up, so if you're interested in learning how to do this properly, come on down.

Useful (but not essential) things to bring along are a gardening fork and/or shovel, a wheelbarrow, gumboots, gloves, and a sharp knife - this could be a pocket knife, craft knife, or kitchen knife (not serrated).
