Mapua continues to shine in cross-country running, with the interschool 4 x 1km event held at Saxton Fields.

The race is designed as a relay for a muddy course run around the 'circus' area of Saxton Field. Mapua could only manage to send a Year 7 and a Year 8 boy's team, due to the low numbers of Year 7 and 8 girls.

The Year 7's came an incredible second place against much bigger intermediates from the Nelson area. Jack Bull, Charlie Wilson and Finlay Sherlock set a good pace before Bryn Thurlow finished strongly.

The Year 8's managed a very credible 6th place and ran their hearts out. The team consisted of Charlie Keen, Harry Pugh, Bo Hill and Liam Thomas.
