Tōtara's paper mache creations
In Tōtara this term we've been learning about animals that go on incredible journeys. We made paper mache models of some of these animals, including the royal albatross, leatherback sea turtle, and longfin eel.
We started with balloons and cardboard to make the shape of the albatross and turtle, and loo rolls to make the shape of the eel. Then we added three layers of newspaper and one layer of tissue paper. After that we painted them. We tried to make them look as realistic as possible.
