Icy cold, wet grass and numb feet - a great way to start our day off at the Inter-schools Rippa Rugby Tournament.

Anna Brewer —

On Tuesday the 4th of June two teams from the senior learning went to the local Rippa Rugby tournament in Motueka. We had two teams, one entered into the competitive competition and one in the social grade.

It was try after try, just not all from our teams! We scored plenty though, with nearly everyone getting at least one try. Some of the games were really tight, with some wins, losses and several ties. It was cool because we got to watch the other team play in our breaks and then they could watch us when we played.

Gabbi’s Mum teaches at Motueka High School next door to the rugby field and bought her whole class over with signs to cheer for us. It was a little bit embarrassing but cool that they were there to support us.

Some words from our teammates to describe the day: fun, cold, muddy, slippy, funny, puffing, tiring, playing, passing, scoring, ripping, watching, cheering.

A tiring but fun day out for everyone!
