Year Eight Wellington Camp 2018
In the last week of Term Three, thirty two excited Year Eight students spent the week in Wellington on Camp.
The annual Year Eight camp to Wellington has become a much anticipated event for our Year Eight students. Students, teachers, whanau and community work hard to raise funds and organise an outstanding learning experience.
During our week away we stayed overnight at Wellington Zoo, made TV programmes, created a short film soundtrack, explored virtual reality, visited parliament and talked with our MP, went ten-pin bowling , visited museums, went rollerblading on the waterfront, rock climbed, went to a board game cafe, went ten pin bowling, visited Carter Observatory and went to WoW. It was quite a busy week!
The learning that happens during this week is fantastic. As well as exposure to a wide variety of activities, our tauira learn about living in an urban environment, self-management and working as a group.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising. We are lucky to live in such a wonderful community.
