In our first assembly of the year we were able to announce our house leaders and hand out the Year 8's green hats.

It was so fantastic to finally get together as a whole school on Thursday and celebrate our house leaders for 2022. It was also fantastic for Sharon to finally stand before us all as our Principal. 

Our hosts Reed and Ngaio did a great job as MC's and Jackson confidently read a speech about the Year 8's leadership week. All of the Year 8's were presented with their green hats which have come to symbolise that they are ready to be the role models of Māpua School. 

There were a lot of nervous students as the house leaders names were read. It is a sought after position that has a lot of mana attached to it. The house leaders for 2022 are:

Kotare (Green) House - Reed Deacon and Lucy Fillary

Tōrea (Black) House - Stella Dryden and Jamie Broderick

Piwakawaka (Yellow) House - Ellis Harris-Brocklesby and Alex Martin

Pukeko (Blue) House - Ngaio Kidd and Fabien Edwards

Tui (Purple) House - Luca Welham and Maddie Mansbridge
