We Believe John 6: 60-69

In Sunday’s gospel Jesus said,

 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever." 

When the people following Jesus heard it, they said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”  Some of them quit following Jesus after that day.  Jesus knew that many people were grumbling and complaining, so he turned to the disciples and said, “You don’t want to leave too, do you?”  Peter spoke up.  “Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.”  

The disciples had answered the call to follow Jesus.  They were not about to turn back now.

Like Peter we can turn to Jesus to guide us.  Jesus is our teacher and friend.  He is always there to help us when we need him and his love for us is all forgiving and unending.  By trusting and believing in him we know that he is the bread of life and he leads us to his heavenly kingdom.
