Reading, writing and numeracy results (CAA’s)
NZQA released results from September’s Literacy and Numeracy assessments on Friday 29th November.
If you sat these in September, you can now see those results by logging into the NZQA website. https://www2.nzqa.govt.nz/login/
Well done! If you passed these assessments!
Everyone who did not achieve one (or more) of the Literacy or Numeracy assessments is able to download a personalised feedback report, showing where they did well and where they might want to focus ahead of attempting the assessment again.
You only need to meet the literacy and numeracy requirements once, and then you have it for all 3 levels of NCEA.
If you are a junior (year 10) student who attempted these assessments early (before NCEA) and did not pass, don't worry, you will have all of year 11 and two more opportunities with support to get ready for success at these assessments next year.
If you are a senior (year 11 to 13) student, worried about what this means for you, please contact Mrs Attridge or Ms Kircher, the Academic Dean before 10th December. After this we will be available from 29th January.
We will be able to work with you in the new year to help you meet the literacy and numeracy requirements.
This could be by:
· achieving all of the Literacy and Numeracy (or Te Reo Matatini me Te Pāngarau) standards; or
· achieving the required number of credits from an approved list of literacy and numeracy-rich standards.
In the meantime, for senior students, the credits you have gained towards NCEA will not be lost, and when you meet the literacy and numeracy requirements, they will be automatically counted towards NCEA.
