YOUTH MP & YOUTH PRESS GALLERY APPLICATIONS - DUE BY 12pm, 28 FEBRUARY.

MBC —

Tell us about a key issue or opportunity that matters to you and the Kaikōura electorate.

Are you:

Between 16 - 18 years old?

Keen to make a difference in our community?

Based in the Kaikōura electorate? (Enter your address here to find out: https://vote.nz/maps/find-your-electorate/)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a young person to participate in a four month programme starting 28 April to engage with our electorate, connect with other Youth MPs and prepare for Youth Parliament on 1-2 July. You will sit in Parliament, take part in debates, join working groups, and advocate for the issues that matter to you! It is not a party-political role.

To apply, please either submit a short video or 300 words about yourself to Stuart.SmithMP@parliament.govt.nz by 12pm, 28 February. Tell me why you would like to be a Youth MP as well as a key issue or opportunity that matters to you and the Kaikōura electorate.

Applications will be shortlisted with selection taking place in March and the successful applicant notified in April and announced by the Minister for Youth in April.

APPLY FOR YOUTH PRESS GALLERY

If you would rather be behind the camera, there is also an opportunity to apply to be one of 20 Youth Press Gallery members too. To apply, you just need to fill in an online application form, which will ask you to provide a current CV, two examples of your work, an opinion piece on one of two topics provided, and two references. The form can be found here: https://myd.smartygrants.com.au/YP25YPGmember
