Why Volunteers Are Important to Schools? Volunteers are an invaluable resource to our teachers and students.

Earlier in the term, our senior students completed their derived grade exams. These are practice for their NCEA exams in November.

Some of our boys are entitled to special assessment conditions in exams where they can access a reader or a writer.

Up until now, we have been fortunate to have a reliable team of reader writers who volunteer their time in these practice exams.

However, one of the many ways that COVID has impacted on all schools is the reduced availability of volunteers from the community.

We put a call out locally for reader/writers and had a great response – we were able to welcome some more lovely people on to the team!
