Two Rock bands from MBC performed at the Lights Over Marlborough 2024.

LOM is Whitney Street School’s main fundraiser. The musicians have entertained the crowd with some upbeat music. It was great to see our talented musicians given up their weekends to support a good cause.

SpeedBump

It is their debut at Lights over Marlborough. Formed in 2023, Their 1st public performance was at the Music Month Band Project at Anderson Theatre 2023. The band started with 4 members and this year they have expanded not only their play list but also their band members. Asher Gotty Guitarist and vocalist, Angus Walter Lead Guitarist, Niko Keynon Bass Guitarist, Bronson Blissett drummer, Niko Russell rhythm guitarist and Ariel Rofe Trumpet player. The band covers genres of a wide variety, and this year they started creating their own original music. Their goal is to participate in the Smoke Free Rock Quest 2025.

Dart Complex

The band formed two years ago in the Year 10 Specialist music class, and they are passionate about making music of their own. Their band members are Archie Cooke on lead guitar, Lachlan Turner on drums, their bass guitarist Finn Brown has taken on a new role of being the bands second vocalists, with Brialey Foster on lead vocals. The band has had a very busy year, they kicked off the year with the Music Month Band Project at Anderson Theatre 2024, and competed in the Rock Quest and came 2nd in the band category with their original songs. In October the band had been invited to perform at Marlborough Girls College Talent Quest, they were also invited to play at Spring Fest 2024. This is their second time performing at Lights over Marlborough, but this time with a different line up of members.
