Canterbury Polyfest 2025
Last Saturday, the vibrant energy of Te Waipounamu lit up Hagley Park as thirty schools came together for the 24th annual Canterbury Polyfest, celebrating the beauty of Pacific cultures.
Over 40,000 people were captivated by powerful performances showcasing Pasifika traditions through song, dance, and storytelling—six weeks in the making.
The festival buzzed with excitement, with food trucks and stalls adding to the cultural experience. A huge thank you to our wider school community, Neame Trust, Rata Foundation, Fie Tokoni Group, and the amazing parents and staff who's work in the background made this opportunity possible for our talented students.
Special thanks to the Creatives and tutors from Tagata Mai Saute Academy, who travelled to Blenheim to teach Samoan dances and songs. The group had a beautiful mix of Pasifika boys from Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Fiji, and Samoa.
Finally, a massive shout-out to our students for their hard work and dedication. Your energy, pride, and performance were truly unforgettable.
What a moment to cherish!
