Nurturing Safer Drivers

MBC —

Marlborough Lines is fully funding NZTA approved AA Defensive Driving Courses for 160 Marlborough youth, including 40 MBC students.

The courses are being rolled out to eligible students holding a learner or restricted licence during 2022 with AA approved instructor, Paul Dalley. Completing the course reduces the time it takes to get a full licence by six months.

The AA Defensive Driving Course provides the skills, knowledge and confidence to be a smarter and safer driver. It teaches important defensive driving skills, such as assessing and identifying hazards, to reduce the risk of being in a crash.

Fully funded courses are also being offered at Marlborough Girls’ College, Queen Charlotte College and through the Marlborough Youth Trust.

Marlborough Lines has a lot of employees on the road every day and improving driver safety is a key focus for us. We are pleased to also be able to help our Marlborough youth become better, safer drivers.
