Students sitting the Literacy and Numeracy exams in week 4 and 5 information.

MBC —

Students have had lots of advice from their teachers already. Don’t worry, they should just do their best.

Here are some reminders : they must use their NZQA Learner Login details to access digital exams. They should check their username and password that they have recently set up or checked with Ms Kircher or Whaea Kendal.

They will need their laptop fully charged as unfortunately, we cannot cater for charging anyone’s device.
They will need a ruler and a calculator for the Numeracy exam. There is no calculator functionality available in Assessment Master.

The exam is nominally one hour but students will be able to work at their own pace for up to 2 hours. They may complete it before that time, at which point they will return to their lessons.
The exam is completed entirely online.

Accessibility:
Polly is a text-to-speech tool that comes with the digital assessment platform. It is available to any students sitting the Writing and Numeracy digital assessments. Polly converts text into audio so students can listen to text in the assessment being read aloud. Headphones will be available for those that wish to use Polly.

Students can see example exams and practise using Polly here: https://www2.nzqa.govt.nz/
Use the NSN number View2024 and Verification number Tw3nty/24
When prompted for a 4 digit code use 0000.
