Farewell Debbie

MBC —

This term we farewelled Debbie Cowlishaw Support Staff Administrator and Board Secretary who has been employed at MBC for 34 years.

Debbie has been a quiet, hardworking, loyal employee whose focus was on supporting the Board of Trustees, teachers, front office administration, her colleagues and the generations of students. Debbie’s role has changed as the school and needs have evolved. She has been the person who has contributed to whole school events such as prizegivings, the leaver’s function, and day-to-day administration. Debbie and her husband Scotty have had two sons attend Marlborough Boys’ College, (Jason and Robert) both have built successful careers in the avionics industry, while daughter Issy was Dux of Marlborough Girls’ College, and is currently undertaking a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Auckland University. At his Principal’s Assembly Matua John Kendal paid tribute to Debbie’s service to the college community with the presentation of an MBC Service Stoll, while the student body showed their tribute with a rousing whole school Haka. Debbie is taking up the opportunity to experience a new career outside of education. She leaves us with our appreciation, aroha and best wishes.
