Minecraft Academy: Building the Future of Learning

MBC —

The Minecraft Academy at Marlborough Boys' College is buzzing with creativity and leadership!

This group of Year 9 students meets weekly to explore how Minecraft Education can enhance their learning experience and how it can be shared with staff and fellow students.

The academy is not just about playing a game – it's about using the platform as a tool for education, creativity, and problem-solving.

This month, the Minecraft Academy students took on a fascinating new challenge: exploring the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Their deep dive into AI ethics sparked engaging discussions about how technology can be used responsibly in education.

The students even had the opportunity to join a global Teams call with other Minecraft ambassadors from around the world. They woke up bright and early at 6 am to connect with their peers, learning and sharing ideas from different cultures and perspectives. It was a truly global learning experience!

The students in the Minecraft Academy are not only gaining valuable technical skills but also growing as leaders in their school community. They’re learning to take initiative, collaborate with others, and think critically about how new technologies can be integrated into the classroom.

These students are passionate about sharing their knowledge with staff and students, and they're eager to help everyone explore the many possibilities Minecraft offers as an educational tool.

If you have any questions about Minecraft, or if you're curious about how it can be used, these students are the go-to experts. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them – they’re excited to share their learning and help others integrate Minecraft Education into their learning.

Keep an eye on the Minecraft Academy – they’re just getting started, and the future of learning is looking bright!
