MGC - not a hoodie school!

Mary-Jeanne Lynch —

Manaakitanga means showing pride in our school, and kotahitanga means we expect everyone to support that. Hoodies, including those with zips, are not part of our school uniform.

Last week we saw an increase in the number of students wearing hoodies both to and from school, and around school during the day. Please leave them at home and enjoy wearing them when you're not in school uniform. In chilly weather, other uniform options are available to keep you warm. Plain navy or black jackets, not hoodies, may be worn if it's cold. Check out our uniform page on our website https://www.mgc.school.nz/school-uniform/ If you need help with uniform, just talk to one of our Guidance team. Students wearing hoodies at school will be asked to remove them and they will be looked after until the end of the school day.

In the meantime, don't forget to drop into reception to check out the options for our new uniform. We're keen to hear what you think. There is a QR code to the online survey, or if you'd prefer a paper copy, pick one up while you're here.

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support!
