On Tuesday 28th June Mrs Davis took senior students Tamara, Isla and Alex across to Nelson to attend the 80th Annual Cawthron lecture entitled ‘Ice and Us’.

A senior GNS scientist and Professor from Victoria University spoke to the attendees about the threat the melting Antarctic ice caps pose. 

They also heard from two Cawthron Scientists about Nature based and other solutions to rising sea levels across Nelson and Marlborough. 

It was a very informative lecture with some very clear messages about possible future scenarios.
