Ewa Zielinska is our new Arts Coordinator for 2022, here she shares a little about what her goals are and how she hopes to grow the Arts at MGC.

Kia ora, my name is Ewa Zielinska. I’m the Arts Coordinator at MGC this year.

I strongly believe that any Art form, whether it is theatre, music, photography or painting, gives young people a language of another dimension. They experience the world through movement, sensation, feeling and thought. Arts encourage young people to express unknown feelings, unspeakable words, stimulate positive change and help them to focus on understanding concepts to a greater depth. Therefore the Arts build a thriving ground for learning.

This year I’m planning to develop an extra curriculum Arts programme at MGC to improve communication, wellbeing, identity and feeling of belonging to community. There are going to be various events and activities throughout the year such as:

• Outdoor Lunchtime Open Stage

• Mural Project
• Theatre Club
• Debating Club
• Film Competition
• Art Installation
• Emotional regulation drama workshops
• Guest speakers (actors, musician, writers, etc)
