We looked at traditional European coat of arms and what each symbol meant. Students then dug deep into their own whakapapa and determined what makes them… them. A modern coat of arms was developed and a shield created.

This is a piece of art I have made in the class Make Her Space. This piece is based on who I am. it is the subject of ‘coat of arms’. I included a lot of ocean themed objects and animals because I live in the Marlborough Sounds. The PE gear of choice show the resemblance of my favourite sports! And the plants are my favourite flowers (hibiscus) and 2 ferns to represent my country.- Lizzie Gibbons
