Covid-19 restrictions dropped:

Marlborough Girls' College —

We explore here what it means for MGC.

The last remaining Covid Mandates have been dropped by the government.

It is no longer a legal requirement to self isolate for seven days if you test positive for Covid-19 and masks do not need to be worn in healthcare facilities. The restrictions have been removed because the public health risk is now considered low compared to other stages of the pandemic.

As with any other illness it is recommended that tamariki and staff stay at home if they are feeling unwell.

Guidance on this from Te Whatu Ora can be found here:

Please note:  The advice on how to survive in a world with Covid as a fact of life can be also applied to winter ailments such as cold or flu so please apply the basics

  • stay home
  • test
  • vaccinate
  • maintain good hygiene
  • cough into their elbow or a tissue
  • sanitise, sanitise, sanitise...
