Welcome back to our international students

We are delighted to welcome a number of international students to our school once again from Japan, Chile, Tonga, Vietnam, Germany and Austria.

We were really pleased to welcome Mr Matsumoto and two students from Jissen Gakuen Junior & Senior High School in Tokyo. It's an honour to reestablish our sister school relationship of over 20 years which was interrupted by Covid in 2020. Our Ota Scholars who will be travelling to Jissen Gakuen in June along with Miss Jenny Pullin, took the opportunity to meet with Mr Matsumoto and talk about their visit later this year.

Thank you to our host parents who are looking after our international students so well.

Later this year we will be hosting a group of 24 students from Jissen Gakuen for 10 days in September. If you are interested in being a host family for one or more of these students, please get in touch with Olga Fuentes-Astorga, our International Director, at international@mgc.school.nz.
