Health and Safety at MGC

Marlborough Girls' College —

Keeping our school and people safe.

Keeping our school and people safe is the responsibility of everybody at MGC, both students and staff.

As part of our health and safety policy, we have plans in place for responding to emergencies, disasters, and crises. At the beginning of the year we ensure that our staff are well informed and trained in our emergency procedures.

Evacuation and Lockdown Practice

As a whole school on the 9 and 16 February we practiced our evacuation and lockdown procedures. This ensured that all our students and staff are well prepared in the event of one of these emergencies. We also gathered feedback to continue to review and improve our systems and processes.

More detailed information on our Planning and Preparing for Emergencies, Disasters, and Crises can be found on our SchoolDocs website.

As a school to support us in identifying hazards and issues around the school we have a health and safety reporting system: ‘Keeping Everybody Safe’. As a student, you can report hazards around the school. It is available on the Schoolbridge site for students.

For whānau, just a reminder to ensure you keep your contact and medical details up to date for our system. If anything changes, please let us know.

It is everyone’s job (Kotahitanga) to make our school environment physically and emotionally safe.
