Someday Film Challenge now calling for registrations

Marlborough Girls College —

This is a filmmaking challenge for anyone under the age of 25 to make a short film about an issue they care about.

The Someday Film Challenge has been empowering Aotearoa’s young people to tell stories about issues they care about and share their stories through the medium of film since 2007. Enter the Someday Film Challenge 2023 and join our wide community of Someday Filmmakers!

NEW in 2023!: Someday Short Shorts - Short, social media style impact films that are 60 seconds or less

For the first time, they are running a separate category for anyone interested in making short, social media style videos that have the potential to have impact and to reach a wide audience.

Someday Short Shorts are short videos shot in a vertical frame (ie portrait) or square style that suits social media platforms such as Instagram or TikTok. The films must be no longer than sixty seconds long, should be informative or at least have the potential to make audiences think (or laugh!)

Up to ten winning Short Shorts films will be selected and receive their own awards and prizes (prizes to be confirmed). They will have the same age group categories and they will also be eligible for the Standout Winner award.

You can also enter the Someday Film Challenge at Film Freeway.

The deadline for 2023 is the 22nd of September

Pre-registrations are now open - Pre-register here!

If you Pre-register you will receive an Entry Pack with key info, film tips, and dates.
They will also keep you updated with tips and tricks to help you make your film great!

It is free to enter, they select 10 winning films and there are lots of prizes to be won. So start making your film today!
