At our first board meeting of the year, the board discussed the very disappointing news regarding the cancellation of the rebuild/colocation project.

 But on a positive note, the 2023 NCEA results were very good for MGC and we could see the continual improvement in achievements over the years. 

The particularly pleasing results were for our Maori learners’ achievement. We have to put behind us the disappointment of not having a modern kura to further enhance these outcomes and focus on continued improvement of all our learners.

Also at our first board meeting, at which we always elect the chair for the year, there was a change in roles. Anna Straker who was Deputy Chair is now chair and Brian Roughan went from Chair to Deputy Chair.
