Touch Champions!
Just before Christmas the Marlborough Under 14 Girls Touch team won the South Island Champs - and although this is a significant achievement it is even more amazing as it was the first time in 20 years! Lizzie Pousima (Year 10) was in the team and 8 of the players join us here at Marlborough Girls' College next week.
Softball
Some of our current and soon to be Year 9 MGC students were team members in the Marlborough Under 15 Girls - (Central) Softball Team, who participated in the Southern Zone U15 Softball Tournament in Ashburton during the term break. They gave it their best, and despite not placing in the top three, one of their team, Kyla Thorstensen (Year 10) was named in the Rest Tournament Team at the end of the tournament. Great work team!
Cricket
Congratulations to Y12 student Maddie Winstanley who is one of two Marlborough cricketers to be selected into the Nelson Senior Women's Cricket team. They are due to play the first two rounds of the Shrimpton Trophy this coming weekend, which is a Central Districts competition.
Maddie was also selected to play in the Marlborough Women's team along with Y11 student Stella Cornelius. Well done to both of them.
