Cultural Achiever of the Year - Lucy Heath. Lucy is an outstanding arts student who excels in every facet of the arts. She is not only an accomplished musician, having recently won first place with her band 'No Clue' in the Smokefree Rockquest, but is also a talented sound designer, contributing her skills to a senior drama performance at the Boathouse. Her achievements in music competitions at Marlborough Girls' College further highlight her exceptional talent.
As a drama student, Lucy has demonstrated remarkable performance skills in both group and solo settings, showcasing her versatility. Her intricate scale model set design reflects her artistic vision and dedication to her craft. This year alone, she has been a key member of the backstage crew for the Shakespeare Festival, ensuring the success of this cultural event.
In addition to her performing arts accomplishments, Lucy has captured the essence of school life through photography at numerous events, preserving the vibrancy of our community. Her tireless work in producing a successful film for the 48-Hour Film Fest earlier this year, along with her role as a camera operator for the short film 'Dive', which has been selected for prestigious festivals such as the NZ Web Festival, Top of the South Film Fest, and the Australian International Film Festival, speaks volumes about her dedication and talent in film. Lucy’s film portfolio website is a testament to her passion, creativity, and deep immersion in the arts.
Lucy embodies the spirit of creativity and collaboration that this Cultural Achiever of the Year Award celebrates. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition Lucy!
