Marlborough Lines Tertiary Study Award open now

Marlborough Girls' College —

Each year the Marlborough Lines awards a grant towards Tertiary study.

MGC has to recommend their top three candidates to Marlborough Lines by the end of September.

We now invite students who meet the criteria to apply to Mary-Jeanne Lynch by way of email, advising why they should be considered for this award.

It is not based on exam results and Marlborough Lines are keen to interview our top students for consideration.

Applications close 20 September to enable evaluation of candidates by the Marlborough Lines deadline.

If you have any questions email joanne.desforges@mgc.school.nz

The Process

The awards must go to students with the desire, commitment, and capability to embark on tertiary study in the fields of science or engineering, and for whom cost is a barrier.

Highest achievers will not automatically be recipients but are eligible if they meet the above criteria.

An annual amount of $5,000 will be awarded to one student each year for the duration of their degree capped at four years (total of $20k per student). The award will be paid to the recipient annually for the agreed term, provided the recipient pursues the same course of study for the duration of the agreed term and achieves pass grades for all their courses

Recipients must be attending tertiary study at a New Zealand University in the year following completion of Year 13 (i.e. not having a gap year first).

MGC has to recommend their top three candidates to Marlborough Lines by the end of September.

There may be opportunity for first year recipients to work at ML in the summer holiday period for the first year of their study, which ML will coordinate with the students.
