Reading challenge
Our Year 9, 10 and 11 whānau classes have been on a reading crusade to see who can read the height of their respective dean first.
Congratulations to 9LECO - who with the encouragement of their whānau teacher Ms Le Compte - were treated to a morning tea this week as their reward for reaching the target first.
Students in 9LECO managed to read the height of the Year 9 Dean, Mr Stephen Galt. And that was not a small feat as he is over 6 ft tall!
Reading for pleasure has flow on effects into academic achievement and general well-being and by providing this challenge we hope to instill good reading habits in our students.
