Both teams placed extremely well in their respective grades and represented Marlborough Girls College with pride. The 9A team had an outstanding first few games, winning their first three to put them through to the top 16.

From then, the competition became a bit tougher. They won their next two before coming up against St Andrews College, resulting in a tough loss. The team went on to compete in the 5th and 6th playoff, in which they lost 31-19 to Rangi Ruru.

The team should be incredibly proud of their achievements throughout the week.

The 10A team had an exceptional run, winning their games and often by decent margins. On day 3 of the tournament they came up against some tougher opposition, however they continued their winning streak winning those games 30-17 and 29-22.

Day 4 was finals day, they came up against Cromwell College in their semi final, winning that 43-19.

Unfortunately, they came up against a tough Burnside College in the final, losing that game 25-17. This team had an outstanding tournament and should be incredibly happy with their 2nd place finish.
