Our Values and Vision

Marlborough Girls' College —

Our purpose is to develop young women who are independent learners with the skills and attributes to tackle existing and future challenges, to make our community, our nation and our world a better place.

The school community works together to challenge and empower everyone to learn and achieve their personal best.

Our values underpin everything we do here. They are:

  • Manaakitanga | A Culture of Care – respect for ourselves and each other, self discipline, encouragement, integrity, empathy and care.

  • Kotahitanga | Working Together as One – working in partnership, teamwork, unity, participation, commitment and solidarity.

  • Whanaungatanga | Working Together to Build Strong Relationships – Whānau, belonging, collaboration and connection, identity and trust.

Our whakatauki is:

Ma te kahukura ka rarere te manu
Adorn the bird with feathers so it may fly

At Marlborough Girls’ College we will support you to:

  • Learn about yourself and the world we live in

  • Develop strong relationships and collaborative skills

  • Contribute through your learning to others at school and in our community

We look forward to sharing your journey with you at Marlborough Girls’ College.
