Ringa Toi Exhibition

Claire van der Watt —

On Thursday 12th September, Cleo Collins, Lillian Ligaliga, Isabella Baldwin, and Trinaty Pillans, along with Arts teachers, Mrs Burrows and Mrs van der Watt, went to the Ringa Toi exhibition at Te Papa in Wellington.

It was a vibrant and bustling day and we couldn't be prouder of our students – Cleo Collins, Lillian Ligaliga, Isabella Baldwin, and Trinaty Pillans – whose exceptional work was selected for this prestigious show, which runs until 27th September. Their artwork will be viewed by thousands over the coming weeks, showcasing the incredible talent of our students on a national stage.

A special congratulations to Cleo Collins, who received a 'Commended' recognition in the painting category, a fantastic achievement that highlights the high calibre of her work.

Lillian Ligaliga, has shared her thoughts on the experience:

"Going up to Wellington and visiting Te Papa with my peers was an incredible experience, especially as we had the chance to see our own art displayed. One of the highlights of the day was exploring the museum’s exhibits and gaining insights from our guest speaker, Graham Hoete, aka Mr G, whose talk was both enlightening and inspiring. I am truly grateful for this amazing opportunity to immerse ourselves in art and culture and for the chance to connect with fellow students and professionals. This experience has left a lasting impression and has deepened my appreciation for the arts."
