On Thursday 3 February we welcomed our new cohort of Year 9 students and new staff to Marlborough Girls' College.

Welcome to all our new students for 2022, we are delighted you will be joining us this year. Also a big welcome to our new staff who have joined us from around the country to support the teaching and learning at MGC. 

Thank you to iwi for their support: We were very honoured to have Te Kenehi Teira speak for mana whenua, with Johnny Joseph in support. Whaea Nan Chadwick and Whaea Helen Joseph led the karanga. Kiley Nepia brought manuhiri onto the paepae with Kereana Norton answering the karanga.

Our Pōwhiri was a little different this year, with representatives from each whānau class attending in person while the rest of the class watched the ceremony together with their whānau teachers. The event was also livestreamed to our parents and students in their classes.
