Erin Green, Year 12, competed in the Track National Championships held in Cambridge on 15 to 19 March.

To compete in the Track Nationals you need to be chosen to represent your region, a fantastic effort by Erin as she is reasonably new to track cycling having started last season as a way of training for her main sport of speed skating. 

In total Erin contested seven events over five days of competition, placing:

• 3rd in the 500m Team Sprint with Mikaela MacDonald from Nelson
• 4th in the Points Race 
• 7th in the Flying 200 Sprint Qualifying
• 8th in the 5000m Scratch Race
• 8th in the 500m 
• 9th in the 2000m Individual Pursuit
• 9th in the Elimination Race
