The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band

MGC —

On Wednesday, 28th February, 23 MGC students went to ASB Theatre to watch The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band

A handful of MGC students visited the ASB theatre to watch New Zealand’s largest professional symphonic wind band in action. This band featured 65-strong top performers, who play with the likes of the NZSO, Orchestra Wellington, the Rodger Fox Big Band, NZ bands including Shapeshifter and The Black Seeds and teach at the New Zealand School of Music.

The performance included a workshop which discussed song writing, sound qualities of each instrument and how each instrument works together.

Our students had the opportunity to talk with the musicians after the performance and learn more about the pathways that are involved with studying music at tertiary level.

Thank you RNZAF Band! We loved listening and learning with you!
