The MGC Senior Futsal team travelled to Nelson on 30 May to play in the TSS Tournament - taking away second place.

We played against various Nelson Teams. MGC breezed through the first four games with double digit scorelines and no goals managed to get past MGC goal keeper Arlio.

The final against a very strong Waimea was hard fought by both teams, and the final score went Waimea's way 5 - 1. 

It was a fun tournament with most of the MGC squad managing to score goals. 

Top goal scorers for the Nelson tournament were Lauren Sloan and Katie Pugh. 

MGC Futsal team would like to thank everyone that has made our two tournaments possible. Coaches Marcello Pinheiro and Stewart Sloan for giving their time and energy to prepare the team, Micheal Rhea and CARE Marlborough for the use of their vans, Meaters and Pak n Save Blenheim for their generous contributions as well. 

Lastly, to all the parents for supporting their girls and bringing them to training- especially those early, cold mornings.
