House Updates from our House Manutaki

Awatere

What a term it has been. The quality of Awatere students participation has been amazing! Everyone who I have seen participating for Awatere has done it with the best attitudes and smiles on their faces. For Athletics we definitely had some of the strongest competitors out there! House Ki O Rahi has been so much fun!!! Cheering on the amazing juniors who held their own, even if they had never played before! Awatere is ready and excited for house events. I hopeful to see more Awatere members participating in the amazing house events we have in the future!!

Kaituna

Kaituna’s participation in Athletics was incredible, it was so good to see students trying out new sports, going outside of their comfort zones and getting involved purely to support our house. The girls who played Ki O Rahi were amazing, despite the losses and lack of full Kaituna participation in each of the games, this didn’t make the girls any less adamant to play well. Kaituna is currently coming third (I think) in the house race but this is only the beginning of Kaitunas redemption year and we are super confident we can reach higher on the leader board later on in the year

Ōpaoa

Opaoa had the most amazing Participation for Athletics helping bring the win that day! My deputies were absolutely incredible and I was so happy to see everyone that went out and participated, trying their best and having fun. The junior girls that participated in Ki-o-Rahi were incredible. They tried their hardest the whole time, winning 2 out of the 3 games!! Opaoa is still currently in the lead ( I THINK) and I am confident that we will keep bringing in the house points and hopefully win for the second year in a row!

Wairau

What an incredible way to start the year, coming second in our first major house event, Athletics! The number of students who participated in this lively, fun-filled day was amazing. I am so proud of everyone who got out of their comfort zones, and earnt some awesome results, for themselves and for our house. Junior Ki O Rahi (Year 9 and 10) also took place at the start of Week 8 this term. Our junior girls played three games against the other houses, and were lucky enough to take home the DUB!! Currently Wairau is sitting in second place, only one point behind Opaoa. I am so excited to see more Warriors participating in their favourite events in the coming terms!!!
