Learning Support

Marlborough Girls' College —

We want to support you in your learning so you get the most out of your time at MGC. There are a variety of ways you can access additional learning support, just ask your whānau teacher or dean if you are unsure where to start.

Learning Centre – Whare Tautoko

The Learning Centre (ext: 888) is there to support your progress and learning. If your parent/caregiver has any concerns about your learning or additional needs in the classroom, they should discuss these with the Head of the Learning Centre before or at enrolment time. This will allow us to ensure appropriate support can be planned and put into place as early as possible for you.

Literacy

The Learning Centre provides literacy assistance for those who require extra support across the curriculum. A literacy class in Year 9 is available to students by invitation only. We may carry out testing to see if you need support in reading, writing, spelling, etc.

Homework Club

We also offer a homework club. This runs one evening a week and provides student support from senior students and teachers across all subjects.

Peer Tutoring

Our Manutaki run a peer tutoring programme for any students who require additional support in their learning. You can find out more from your Manutaki or by asking at Guidance.
