Students in WVC class took on the challenge to make a lanterns that met the following specifications:

• 3D- Shapes added to make the light bigger & unique shape that creates a theme.
• AESTHETIC- Colourful and detailed with shapes, colours, and structures that are well-made and attractive.
• DURABLE- Designed and built to be used repeatedly without falling apart or breaking. Secure the attached items to the lantern.
• FEEDBACK - Work shows changes to design and ideas based on input from others not in your group.

Students collaboratively designed their idea and tested different techniques and materials to make it 3D yet durable. They made prototypes out of paper mache balloons, allowing them to test their ideas. During the re-design, they received feedback from other groups to refine and improve their work. Their final colourful designs represent their attempts at meeting all the criteria and will adorn the Textie classroom this year.
