Students in Year 11 Music prepare Smokefree Rock Quest

Thirteen students in Year 11 Music have been working tirelessly on their compositions for the regional heat of SmokeFree Rock Quest. 

This class is based around the compositional and performance techniques required to perform in a real-world setting. The competition is held in Nelson and students will travel over on 18th May. 

We have three bands from the class entered as well as two additional bands with members from MGC. 

At the competition, Bands and Solo-Duos will perform 1 song and from there, the judges will select the regional winning solo-duo acts and the top 12 bands. The winning solo-duos will be invited to enter a video submission for national top 30 selection, and the top 12 bands will perform again at the regional final.
