STEAM WEEK
This dedicated week is designed to inspire students into the world of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. While S.T.E.A.M subjects are a core part of the school curriculum, this week allows for students to explore the wide range of what they fully encompass.
During this event, a wide variety of fun and engaging activities (facilitated by the Digital Manutaki) were coordinated to go along with the theme, enabling MGC’s students to investigate the enjoyable side of these scholarly subjects.
On Monday, a group session of Minecraft: Education Edition was held, where students could play online together, focusing on the technology aspect.
On Tuesday, there was a VR station set up where students were blasted into space in virtual reality one at a time, also traversing the technology factor.
Wednesday saw the Whanau classes competing to build the tallest tower out of uncooked spaghetti noodles and marshmallows, testing their engineering capabilities.
Thursday saw various STEAM activities and we ended the fun week with slime making.
