Their trip to Rotorua started with a long day travelling - delayed and cancelled flights, and a bus trip from Auckland to Rotorua.

However, they dealt with this admirably and then played three days of tough games with a mixture of wins, draws and losses. They finally ended the tournament finishing in 9th place out of 27 teams – a great result for our team which included six Year 9 & 10 players.

It was also a great last appearance for our Year 13 leavers – Paige O’Brien, Shani

Tilbury and Isabella Tupouto’a.

A huge thanks to coaches Todd Nicholas and Jordy Peipi, and super managers Alice McMillan and Donna Tupouto’a for their tireless work supporting our students.

Game results were:

• Round Robin: 1-7 v Hamilton Girls (eventual winners); 9-0 v Hillcrest

• Crossovers: 2-4 v St Kentigerns (5th overall); 5-5 v Rotorua Girls; 1-7 v Columba - (runners up)

• Quarter final 6: 4-0 v New Plymouth

• Semi final 6 : 7-6 v Whangarei (won by a drop off!)

• Final 5 9 th/10 th place: 6-3 v Rotorua Girls
