Transport to School

Marlborough Girls' College —

Students may travel to school in a variety of ways including walking, biking, driving their own vehicle or catching a school bus. Below are some key points for students and whānau to be aware of.

Buses

The Ministry of Education provides a free bus service if you live more than 4.8 kilometres from the school. Bus transport is provided for students who live in Ward, Seddon, Havelock, Linkwater,

Renwick/Waihopai/North Bank, Wairau Valley, Rarangi, Rapaura, Spring Creek, Tua Marina, Dillon’s Point, Fairhall and students from Witherlea who live south of Hospital Road.

The bus service to Picton has not been contracted by the Ministry and is a user paying service.

Please note these are shared services with Marlborough Boys’ College and primary schools.

Cars

You may drive a car to/from school as long as you adhere to the rules of your license and you are over 16 of course! It is your parents’/caregivers responsibility to ensure you have safe travel arrangements. There is no student parking available on school grounds, so please ensure you show consideration for our neighbours.
