Elevate Wellbeing with MGC's Hauora Week Celebration! šš
This week, we're celebrating Hauora at MGC! It's all about strengthening wellbeing and embracing the four pillars of Te Whare Tapa Wha.
Each day of the week is dedicated to a different Hauora pillar, ensuring a holistic approach to wellness. From mental health to physical activity, we've got every dimension of wellbeing covered.
On Wednesday, to support our Wairua, we have a host of amazing workshops delivered by people in our community. Students can sign up for:
Restorative Yoga with Charlotte Patterson
Art for Wellbeing with Emma Toy from Creative Kids
Macrame Wall Hangings with Kellie Allenet from the Womenās Art Initiative
Mindful Cupcakes with Emily Brown and Tineka Hesketh from 24/7
Sports fun with our amazing sports Manutaki
MÄori games with Cleo Collins, our Manutaki MÄori
We're incredibly grateful for the amazing people in our community who are coming to share their wellbeing initiatives with us.
On Thursday, we're promoting sleep by encouraging students to sleep in with a late start and sharing some sleep hacks to ensure good rest. Research tells us that teenagers need 9 hours of quality sleep each night to feel good and function well.
On Friday, we're celebrating WhÄnau with a gathering on the quad. It's open mic time, with jump jam, and the Marlborough Youth Trust will be here with fun activities like cornhole and the 5 Ways to Wellbeing dice game.
