Amazing Aquabot Engineering

Marlborough Girls' College —

Four teams of Aquabot engineers travelled to Nelson to compete in the Regional NZ Aquabot competition, organised by Ministry of Inspiration at Richmond Aquatic Centre.

The girls were pretty nervous and unsure of what to expect, but they demonstrated amazing teamwork and resilience to complete all the tasks including navigating an obstacle course in the shortest time possible, collecting Scallop shells from the bottom of the pool and presenting about the technical aspects of their design.

It was a clean 1-2-3 sweep by Marlborough Girls' College teams, with the Dino Destroyers (Jasmine Moon, Natalie Burney, Raine Seymour and Hally Bowhill) finishing the day on top.

The other teams competing were: Flitzpippen: Freya Lawson & Azul Marin (2nd)MGC Aquanauts: Noa Henry, Annie McColl, Emily Harper & Cushla Cook (3rd)Just Add water: Cerys Lawson, Shanaya McElhinney, Neve Smith & Milana Gurovich.

The Dino Destroyers, Flizpippen and MGC Aquanauts have qualified for the NZ Aquabots National Competition, to be held in Christchurch in late November. Any financial support towards getting the teams to this national competition are very welcome.
