Students win big at Regional TOI/Wearable Art Competition at Showquest in Nelson

44 MGC students attended the Wearable Arts competition in Nelson with garments designed to communicate a story. These students were in year 9-13 and completed the garments as part of their Technology courses this semester.

MGC won 11 awards, including the top prize for Te Wheke-o-Muturangi created by Georgette Herkt and Molly Wilkes. Their garment will be considered for entry into the Wellington Wearable Art Competition in September. Ka mau te wehi!

Below is an article from the students, explaining their garments.

A huge thanks to the staff who assisted with this : Leah Toft-Dorr and Sheryll Gwynne
