The Skoda National Schools Mountain Biking Championships were staged in Marlborough during the second week of the holidays.

Over 500 riders and their families attended the championships.  MGC riders Maddy Sinclair, Neve McKenzie and Erin Green each provided gritty performances to gain the following results:

• Neve McKenzie - 3rd in the U16 Girls Cross Country.

• Maddy Sinclair - 3rd in the U20 Girls Cross Country.

• Neve McKenzie, Maddy Sinclair and Erin Green - 2nd in the U20 Girls Cross Country Relay.

• Maddy Sinclair - 4th in the U20 Girls Downhill.

• Neve McKenzie - 3rd in the U16 Girls Enduro.

• Maddy Sinclair - 5th in the U20 Girls Enduro.

In addition to this:

• Maddy Sinclair was placed 3rd in the U20 Girls Overall.  Points were awarded for individual race placings across all three disciplines: Cross Country, Downhill and Enduro.
• MGC placed 7th overall in the Top Senior School competition based on points from the team's performances.
